The things that will trigger it are dust, smoke, cleaning products, cats, dogs, (there fur) any animal fur. I suggest you go on your breathing machine about once or twice a day ( it really helps!!!) and then get a purifier, wal-mart has some cheap ones that work good. Especially have one near you when your sleeping, you'd be suprised how well that works out! I have really bad asthma to. We also have cats and burn wood in the winter so all of those things were factors in our decicion to buy this machine. We run ours all the time and it is a whole house unit, not just a single room. We purchased ours from a private dealer in our area (we live in Nebraska) and right now I don't have the company name , but if you're intersted you can e-mail me and I will find out the information or web site you can contact. Just let me know. We were also able to pay for it with auto withdrawls from our checking account instead of having to pay in full when we bought it.
