I have a Sharper Image ionizer. IT ROCKS. I would buy one for each room if they weren't over $200 a piece.

It allows the dust to settle so it can be vacuumed or wiped up rather than floating around the room. It purifies the air so well that when I walk into the room I can SMELL the freshness.

Definitely beats purifiers that need fliters and are loud!

if price is not an issue. Go for a HEPA air purifier. They remove viruses, bacteria, dust, pollen, etc... The HEPA filters are used in labs which contain hazardous and infectious materials as well. There around $300 i think.

I have an Oreck 2000. It has a washable filter. It seems to do a good job removing pollen, but right now the mold spore count is high and it doesn't seem to do any good at all! Grr
