You have to look at the Rms of each sub and combine them and thats roughly the size of the apliphier youll need. You will also want to find ouut the ohm rating of the subs and how you will be hooking them up to match it with an amp that is stable at that ohm. You should have a mono block amp to.

car audio is a sore subject because many factors can run into "rubbish" sounding subs.

Type of subs, from what it sounds like you dont want to spend alot of money so you prob. have 2 crapy subs and still want to bass hard.

Type of box, sealed box will get you better sounding but ported box will let you hit harder.

as for an amp it depends again on how cheap you want to be but cheap will get you "rubbish" sound.

check rms rating on subs and dont go over it with the amp.

look at the power rating of the subs! then dont go for a cheap amp sony or infinity are the best, make sure its a mono block amp if your only running subs of it dont mess around with bridging them you'll only go burning out the voice coils on the subs later down the line and dont go buying an amp more powerful than the subs you'll only have the same problem, i had 2 sony 12" pentagons running off a 1600w monoblock amp they were perfect you couldnt get better sound for your money. hope this answers your questions

For the sake of all the people who live where you drive about at night, Let's hope it's a broken one. Enjoy your hearing now because you will miss it when it's gone. I know this from personal experience.

not sure of any make names now ( been a while since i had a sub in the car) , but its always better to have more power to the subs than they need .
this will avoid "clipping" and give you a clearer sound .
i had a 300 watt infinity sub 10" powered by a 500w bridged 2 channel pheonix gold amp . that worked a treat and nearly blew out the back window at full pelt !!!
hope this helps .
